Marketing and Advertising Agencies in Egypt: One Partner or Two?
Should one agency in Egypt run your marketing and your advertising, or should you hire two? Where the handoff costs you money, and when one partner wins.

For most businesses in Egypt, one partner that owns both your marketing and your advertising will beat two separate agencies, because the handoff between strategy and media is where budgets leak. Two agencies make sense only when one of them clearly owns the final number, such as sales, leads or bookings, and the other works to it.
What Each Kind of Agency Does
The names overlap in Egypt, so judge an agency by what it actually delivers.
| Marketing agency | Advertising agency | Full-service partner | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Decides who you sell to | Yes | Rarely | Yes |
| Brand, positioning and messaging | Yes | Sometimes | Yes |
| Creative production (video, photo, design) | Sometimes | Yes | Yes |
| Media buying on Meta, Google and TikTok | Sometimes | Yes | Yes |
| SEO, content and landing pages | Yes | Rarely | Yes |
| Owns the sales or lead number | Rarely | Rarely | It should |
The audience both must reach is large and mostly on the same platforms. Facebook was Egypt's most used platform in October 2025 with about 51.6 million users aged 18 and over, ahead of YouTube at 49.3 million and TikTok at about 48.8 million, per IDSC figures reported by Arab Finance. When your brand message and your ads land on the same feeds, they have to be built by people who talk to each other every day.
Where the Handoff Costs You Money
When strategy sits with one agency and media with another, four things go wrong again and again:
- Slow learning. The media team sees in week one that a hook is not working. The creative team hears about it at the monthly meeting. Three weeks of budget go to an ad everyone already knew was losing.
- Translated creative. A brand team writes the concept in English, the ad team adapts it to Arabic at the end, and the ad reads like a translation to the people it is meant to sell to.
- No owner for the final number. Each agency reports its own metric, such as reach, clicks or followers. Nobody is accountable for leads or sales.
- Two retainers for one job. You pay twice for account management, planning and reporting.
The market is growing fast enough that these leaks get expensive. Egypt's digital ad spend is expected to grow 12.8% a year to reach US$1.84 billion in 2026, per Research and Markets. More spend means more competition for the same feeds, and slow teams pay more for every result.
When Two Partners Make Sense
There are cases where a second partner is the right call:
- A large broadcast or TV production that needs a dedicated production house for a single shoot.
- A global media contract your group already holds, where a local partner runs creative and performance on top.
- Outdoor at national scale. Egyptian businesses spent EGP 6.3 billion on outdoor advertising in 2024, up 53% in a year, per Enterprise, and big multi-city campaigns sometimes run through a specialist buyer.
Even then, one partner must own the final number and set the brief for the other. If nobody owns it, you are back to two agencies reporting two different successes while sales stay flat.
How EKO Runs Both Under One Roof
We built EKO so that strategy, creative, media, SEO, development and automation live in one growth team for each client, as we describe in our 2026 agency ranking method. Arabic and English are written at the concept stage, never translated at the end, and our in-house studio produces the photo, video and motion that feed every campaign.
That structure is how we deliver results like these:
- A regional airline: cost per acquisition down 38% after a combined creative and audience reset, from the same highlights.
- A B2B SaaS platform: cost per lead down 58% while lead volume doubled, on our marketing results page.
Every client gets open ad accounts and a live dashboard tracking return on ad spend, cost per lead and conversion rate, plus a monthly review with next steps. Our block-of-hours model gives you senior strategists, designers and media buyers on demand, without a long-term contract.
Tell us what you sell and what one number you want to move, and we will reply with a plan that covers both marketing and advertising. Start with our proposal form.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between a marketing agency and an advertising agency?
A marketing agency decides who you sell to, what you say and where you show up, including brand, content and SEO. An advertising agency produces ads and buys media to put them in front of people. A full-service partner does both and should own the business result, not only the reach.
Is a full-service agency more expensive than two specialists?
Usually not, because you pay for one team's planning, account management and reporting instead of two. The bigger saving is speed: when the media team and the creative team sit together, a losing ad is replaced in days, not at the next monthly meeting.
Can one agency handle both Arabic and English campaigns?
It should, if it writes both at the concept stage. Ask to see live Arabic ads and the English versions of the same campaign side by side. If the Arabic reads like a translation, the agency is adapting at the end, and your Arabic-first buyers will notice.
What should the first month with a marketing and advertising partner look like?
An audit of your current campaigns and funnel, a written plan with one success metric, the first creative tests live on your main channel, and access to a live dashboard. By the end of the month you should know which ads win and why.
