Restaurant & Café Loyalty Programs in MENA (2026 Playbook)

The average casual-dining brand in MENA hands 20–30% of an order's value to a delivery aggregator, and gets no customer data back. Loyalty is how you take that relationship back.
This is the F&B loyalty playbook we run for restaurant groups, café chains and cloud kitchens across Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
The one metric that matters: visits per member per month
Everything in F&B loyalty reduces to frequency. A café member who visits six times a month instead of four is worth 50% more, with no change in menu price. Design every mechanic around that single lift.
Which mechanic fits which format
| Format | Best mechanic | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Specialty coffee | Stamp / streak | Habit-forming, instantly understood |
| Casual dining | Tiered points | Rewards party size and occasion spend |
| QSR | Wallet + surprise drops | Speed at the counter, impulse-driven |
| Cloud kitchen | Order-count rewards in-app | Pulls orders off aggregators |
| Fine dining | Invitation-only benefits | Status over discount |
The strategy is not to leave the aggregators — it is to convert their customers into your members:
- In-bag conversion — a QR insert offering a first-order reward on your own channel.
- Direct-order price advantage — a small but visible member-only difference.
- Exclusive items — one or two menu items available only to members, ordered directly.
- Delivery-fee rewards — the highest-converting benefit in Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
- Pickup rewards — the most margin-positive behaviour you can incentivise.
A 15% shift from aggregator to direct order is typically worth more than a 15% increase in total orders.
The app decision
A dedicated app is justified in F&B far earlier than in other sectors, because push notifications at 11:40am and 8:15pm are the campaign channel. But an app only works with a reason to open it: ordering, paying, and reward progress in one screen. An app that only shows a points balance will be uninstalled within a month.

Minimum viable F&B loyalty app:
- Menu and ordering with saved favourites
- Payment (card token, Apple Pay, mada, wallet)
- Visible reward progress on the home screen
- Branch selection with pickup and delivery
- Arabic-first RTL, and a genuinely fast cold start
Gamification that is not gimmicky
Streaks, milestone badges and time-limited "happy hour" multipliers reliably raise frequency in coffee and QSR. What fails: leaderboards, spin-the-wheel with low-value prizes, and anything that requires more than two taps to understand.
Franchise and multi-brand groups
Restaurant groups face a specific problem: shared points across brands, separate P&Ls. We solve it with an internal settlement model — the brand that issues the point carries the liability, the brand that redeems it invoices the issuer. Agreeing this before launch avoids the argument that kills most group-wide programs in year two.
Why F&B brands choose EKO
We build the loyalty engine and the app, integrate them with your POS and delivery stack, and then run the acquisition and lifecycle campaigns that fill the member base — including the food photography and motion content that makes a reward feel worth chasing. Our production and performance teams in Cairo, Riyadh and Dubai work on the same brief, so the reward offer and the creative that sells it are never disconnected.
